What confirmations tell you
A transaction is confirmed when it is included in a block. Later blocks add confirmations.
Pending is not failed
An unconfirmed transaction may still be waiting in a node’s mempool. Different nodes can see different pending transactions. A missing result alone does not prove a failure.
Targets depend on your use
The number of confirmations you require depends on the amount, counterparty and your policies. IntelBTC observes the target you choose; it does not certify a payment’s finality.
Network changes remain possible
Reorganizations can change recent confirmations. Fee increases or replacement transactions may also affect what is observed. Always verify important payments in your own wallet.
